Much Innuendo

Some people might even say that, nowadays, sophistication’s overrated

well, let’s just put it this way:

you’re definitely not the refined type.

you aren’t the most cultured individual, the savant amongst us or the most complicated.

To make things worse, you’re short.

And not self conscious enough about your body to even consider practicing a sport.

Incredibly messy and

I don’t know how to tell you this, but sometimes you embarrass me.

 

Now, in all honesty,

This is not exactly my scenario of what Prince Charming should be like.

But the contrary.

Yet here you stand, in front of me – the only woman in the world.

And  it’s alarming how powerful you make me feel,

versus how powerless we truly are.

So despite all the unflattering things I’ve said,

Two ordinary people and a lot of changes

So they feel overwhelmed from time to time

Two ordinary people with a story not like the rest

Two ordinary people ever trying their best.

 

So, once again, here I am

While all other parts of me are aggressively attached to all important parts of you.

This is home to me now.

I am exactly who I am and you believed in me.

It took a while, but now I also do.

 

Once again here I am,

writing about sexuality, drama, how imperfect we are

and wondering what else there is for us.

When, in reality,

Things are much more complicated, because we’ve never been more happy.

So maybe

we shouldn’t waste any more time on redemption for our neverending sins,
